Let's say that, when Hidan exploded, his hand also blew up and sent his ring flying. I think that Shikamaru will find the ring, and keep it as a memento of what happened. But, that's not all. We also know that the Akastuki Leader uses long-distance jutsus:
-Communicatin with Hidan and Kakuzu via their brains,
-Shouten no Jutsu,
-and the hologram jutsu. So, I believe that he can tell when one of his underlings gets killed and/or loses their ring. Upon learning that Shikamaru has the late Hidan's ring, he might list Shikamaru on Akatsuki's personal Bingo-Book, if they have one. In any case, Shikamaru has to watch his back from now on. This is especially the case if the rings carry special powers. Who knows what's in store for Shikamaru...?

It could be like Lord of the Rings.Where if he puts on Hidan Akastuki ring the AL can track him.

Doesnt oro still have his ring, couldnt they have just gone and killed him then. I dont think shika has to worry that much. Rather konoha in total will have to worry, they will have taken down 3 when kakuzu wins.

Akatsuki won't take it back, because then they can keep replacing members and it will go on forever. Shika may find it.

Why would Shikamaru unbury Hidan when he only just buried him, just to get his ring that he has no idea about?
I doubt Akatsuki would care that much, really.
They're still only mildly worried about Orochimaru, and he betrayed them and took a ring.
Shikamaru will get Hidan's ring, i'm sure of that. He will keep it as a momento in Asuma's memory
No one has yet to explain why Shikamaru will go back and dig up Hidan after having just buried him to get something he doesn't even know the significance of...
Like a week later... quot;Oh hey, you know, that crazy guy had a pretty nice ring... I guess I'll go dig him up and take it... it'll match my earrings.quot;
Shika has no idea what the rings are for. Why would he take them?
The rings are important to Akatsuki, else there wouldn't be so much emphasis about retrieving them.
If they knew where Orochimaru kept his ring, I would bet they would try to retrieve it.
Perhaps if Zetsu comes after the ring while Shika is there he'll be like... 'hmm... I bet that's important. I should take it from that plant guy.'
Or something more silly; if you find a ring, which you would have to kill an Akatsuki to get, then you either have to join or die.
I wonder if Orochimaru can use his ring to spy on Akatsuki somehow.
Itachi, Kisame, Deidara, Hidan, Kakzuzu, and Sasori all appeared in front of Konoha nins wearing rings on their different fingers. Assumedly, the reports ninjas are required to turn in are extremely detailed, so most, if not all, of these guys would have quot;Wears a ring on this fingerquot; in their Konoha profile.
Neji saw the hand-setup of the sealing process, and probably got a description of each of the Akatsuki. Neji probably reported on the positioning of the Akatsuki on the hand.
Shikamaru did research. Why not research on Akatsuki? If he cross-referenced their positioning on the giant hands with the positioning of their rings, he would probably surmise the rings are important.
It is doubtful there was any information on Akatsuki in the Konoha Library for Shikamaru to research. Jiraya had to go out and use his sources to get information.
However there could be a possibility that Jiraya may get word about the rings while he is out 'investigating'.
