There is NO Plot no Jutsu
Plot no Jutsu this, Plot no Jutsu that.
All it is is a way for people to justify their complaining that the manga didn't go the direction that they thought that it should have.
Naruto beat Neji by using Kyuubi chakra! Plot no Jutsu!
Naruto beat Gaara because he quit using sand defense! Plot no Jutsu!
Kimimaro died because of illness! Plot no Jutsu!
Sakura and Chiyo beat Sasori because he killed himself! Plot no Jutsu!
Shikamaru blew up Hidan! Plot no Jutsu!
Please... all these instances have justifiable reasons. And if you cant accept thease reasons and their outcomes then just shut up.
Plot no Jutsu is baisically saying quot;Naruto won that fight just because Kishimoto wanted him to.quot; And that you think that Naruto would have lost under so called quot;normalquot; circumstances.
But tell me, were the HELL whould you get these circumstances? Kishimoto writes the damn manga. If Naruto beats Neji in the manga, then he is stronger. Its simple. There is no Plot no Jutsu. If you think that Kishimoto is worng, then you should just stick to fillers.
Denying the existence of PNJ is more foolish IMO. It's overused excuse but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. In my experience the only people who deny its existence are those whose favorite characters have benefited greatly from it.
Of course, it's all the storyline.
But sometimes there are situations that are SO against logic and/or would require a lot of random luck to happen.
Like, when Naruto was totally being beaten by Neji. He had the upper hand THE WHOLE TIME.
Suddenly, nine-tails, and Naruto would still loose. And what's next? NEJI GETS UNABLE TO FIGHT BY A SIMPLE HIT TO HIS CHIN?
As you see, it's likely that people are upset by that, and then they call it plot no jutsu, or, how it was originally called, PLOT DEVICE.
Normally, we can put up with that, I mean the manga would be over if such things never happen, but there ARE occasions where it is ridiculous.

Nope, your wrong.
Naruto is my favorite charater. Sure, he's won such fights as Neji and Gaara, but lately he has been getting the short end of the stick ever since he lost to Sasuke in part 1. Since then he hasnt done a damn thing thats impressive.
I think that people here missunderstand the term quot lot no Jutsuquot; with quot;Deus Ex Machinaquot; however as the PNJ trem includes the word quot lotquot; it gets annoying and out of place, quot;Deus Ex Machinasquot; or quot lot no Jutsuquot; are integral parts of any good story as without them it wouldn't be story at all.
People must start to understand that the story has a mechanic in order to keep it interesting, there is not al an alternate world with all Naruto characters running around in wich quot lot no Jutsuquot; doesn't exist and so Neji can beat Naruto, Naruto can't beat Gaara, Naruto can't beat Kazuzu because the former is Akatsuki etc...it's all about storytelling, if you like a character and it hurts you he loses a battle it's your problem.
There is not A wins over B because he was lucky, A beats B because it is meant to be so, this is the story no quot lot no Jutsuquot; involved at all

I fail to see how this makes me wrong in anyway. Just because Naruto isn't benefiting from PNJ now, it means that he never has? PNJ describes moments not characters. Kabuto vs. Naruto=PNJ.

Neji used his 64 punch thing. I'm sure that consummed alot of his chakra. Then during the finnal blow whhen they charged eachother, I'm sure Neji put his all into the attack wanting to end the fight.
Simply put, he was exausted of chakra by the end of the fight. Neji's chakra dose not compete with Kyuubi's.
Paul the SK: I agree somewhat. Everything is technically quot lot No Jutsuquot; due to the fact that Kishimoto writes everything to further the plot. However.
How do you explain Naruto punching Gaara in the face in the hospital? His shield of sand should have came up protecting him.
Also, how do you explain the shield not protecting him when Naruto punches him during the Konoha Kizuhshi arc? It's supposed to act of it's own will. But it mysteriously doesn't at that point in time?
Naruto's strength coming from the Kyuubi... I've wrote it off as a Plot No Jutsu. I really believe that it is. No amount of Chakra should have been able to open his Tenketsus after The 64 Strikes. But still if Kishimoto wanted it that way, it's futile to argue it. Still I'd like for you to explain my Italicized incidents.
The Truth: You're right. I agree with you. It is pointless to deny the existance of Plot No Jutsu. It's a very real phenomenon.
Plot no jutsu came about due to the extreme bitching and fanboyism that exists here. Plot no jutsu is simply a plot event that is unaccepted by the fanbase and in their tantrum the try to bash the author by saying it was somehow illogical.
Everything can be called quot;plot no jutsuquot;. Neji being Hyuuga is plot no jutsu, The Konoha symbol being a leaf is plot no jutsu, Orochimaru having black hair is plot no jutsu. However, something is only dubbed plot no jutsu if someone does not like it. These types of ridiculous applications makes the entire concept idiotic.
Plot no jutsu does not exist in the manga, it only exists on these forums.
So hypothetically, if the Hulk lost to a disabled bunny in a fight, that isn't plot no jutsu?
PnJ exists, that is undeniable. Or rather quot;Jobbingquot; as I like to call it.

Kabuto was surprised from Naruto's reaction. A when a kid is reckless enough to let a kunai got through his hand to block an attack, I'm sure Kabuto was like quot;what the fuck?quot;. Therefore he faltered a bit and got struck by Rasengan. Besides, in the end Naruto suffered more from this fight then Kabuto did anyway.Originally Posted by MegaharrisonPlot no jutsu came about due to the extreme bitching and fanboyism that exists here. Finnaly, someone understands my point.

Not really, Kabuto vs. Naruto doesn't involve any quot lot no Jutsuquot; it was build this way, you can say that quot;By logic Naruto couldn't beat Kabuto because that and that...quot;
However it means jack as far as the narrative goes, Naruto beats Kabuto because it is so, it is about the message of the story, not character A vs character B, Kishimoto isn't a walking analityc battledome but an story writter.
Naruto beats Neji to prove that destiny isn't marked, He wins over Kabuto to show that the detremination of protecting someone/anyone can make you strong, he looses against Sasuke to prove that not everything allways works as you want even if you effort to the max etc...
There is not quot lot no Jutsuquot; it simply is the ongoing story, as I said the Narutoverse isn't an existing place wehere character A beats character B because he can do that and that.
Plot-no-Jutsu is an invented term used by those wich don't like their favourites characters to lose a battle or do something they don't want they to do or by those wich are stuck in a quot;logicquot; that isn't compatible with storywriting

I don't think the thread starter or anybody else deny that there is a plot. Without the plot there would be no storyline. But what the thread starter and myself are sick and tired to hear people using plot no jutsu as an excuse.
If you want to complain or make a case about something, use what we see or read from the anime and manga (Naruto), instead of saying it is because of plot no jutsu for this or that to happen. Anybody can say plot no jutsu. In other words, use your analytical skills.

Agreed, but that still doesn't answer my question. LoL.Originally Posted by _UchihaSasuke_How do you explain Naruto punching Gaara in the face in the hospital? His shield of sand should have came up protecting him.

I don't think it exist, its called story writing. Sure its might not seem logical, but its fiction. with little kids that have demons inside them...logic isn't something apart of it...
PnJ is a foolish notion in that the entire series is the creation of the author, so the entire series is one, single thing; therefore, the entirety of the plot could be interpreted as quot lot no jutsuquot;.
The only time I would find PnJ appropriate is the Chiyo/Sakura vs. Sasori arc, everything else was as fine as it could be. I'm more upset of the way the story is being told, it just doesn't hold the flare part 1 had.
Kabuto vs. Naruto in the anime was shown way too slow from the manga in my opinion. Kabuto could have very well kicked Naruto; he was in the right position, but that didn't happen. In the manga, it looked like Naruto prepared the Rasengan at the same time Kabuto's surprise wore off.
Neji vs. Naruto? Well Jyuuken strikes were shown to be one hit kills when we saw Hiashi do it to that one guy, but Neji isn't Hiashi, and even Hinata took a few Jyuuken blows to the chest. Lets also not forget that Naruto has the Kyuubi to constantly heal him.

Which, I'd like to add, is a pretty unassailable reason for a given character to win a given fight.
I'm a writer myself, and events in my stories happen the way they do because that's the way I damn well want them to happen!
Thing is, many readers have very sensitive (some might say excessively sensitive) baloney meters. But given the type of gosh-wow-cool story Naruto is, I'm quite happy to indulge Kishi's authorial idiosyncracies. As long as I continue to be entertained by this narrative, I'm happy as a clam at high tide.
If I want realism, I'll look out the freaking window, not read manga.
As always, YMMV.

Yes, medical ninjas that specialize in evasion, who are on the level of Elite Jounin like Kakashi, can't escape the grip of a 12 year old. Very logical.
It simply doesn't make sense, that Kabuto with three other limbs was completely helpless. So while plot no jutsu is an invented term, it was created to describe very real circumstances. If it didn't exist then there wouldn't be threads like these popping up every few weeks trying to prove it doesn't. |
