Okay think with me for a second. We all know that everything in Hollow World is Spanish. All the names, releases, hell, most of the hollows speak Spanish. So how would that have happened, all of them speaking that language? Me thinks the same way that Mexico came to speak Spanish. Hernán Cortés conquered it.

Perhaps when he died, a shinigami didn't get to him in time. He became a hollow. Then he swallowed all the souls of the natives he killed and were dying because of the plagues the Spanish brought over to the new world. This made him immensely powerful. Then he discovered hollow world. And he took the other hollows that used to be his men and led them on a crusade through hollow world. He conquered them, became an Arrancar, and came to rule over that world. 600 years later, Aizen kicked his ass and became the new king of hollow world. But by then all the hollows came to speak Spanish.Or just Kubo Tite is racist.

I go for teh second.

Why should he be racist when making those awesome characters

I just assumed that the reason everything Hollow-related is spanish-themed is because of the Mexican quot;Day of the Deadquot; holiday.  The Hollow masks remind me of the sugar skulls that are associated with said holiday

you might possibly make a case for kubo being racist if he didn't seem to be aware of so much about the country. He's seemingly able to speak some of the language and is well aware of various aspects of their culture. It seems rather that he looked into, or was aware of a few ideas from their culture which he based the concept for Hollows off of and decided to keep things in a consistant line by then basing other parts of their world off the same things. Its also an easy way for them to be identified as different
