Lifter Question

I am just curious if any other lifters will work in buick motors. I ask this because I came across this listing on ebay.

I have a 430 engine with the later 455 heads so it is oiled like the 455 through the pushrods. If this is the case in that auction can I just order some bbc lifters or possibly these?
I was possibly interested in these if this is the case.

From the picture, they look like GM lifters with the hardened foot, if they are GM style lifters like the picture indicates, thats a decent price

The chevy lifters feature a deeper pushrod cup than the Buick design, and may require longer-than-stock pushrods to work properly.

Almost any GM flat tappet lifter will work  - they all are .842" in diameter, except for some of the Olds 425, they are .921" . There are also some which have a different oil band placement, which leads to uncovering the oil band in some instances, but I forget the application. As stated earlier, pushrod length will need to change to suit.

How can I determine what length pushrods I will need?

You will need a pushrod length checker which is an adjustable pushrod with measured increments to determine proper length. Comp cams or Trend Performance products are a couple of sources. Trend makes all of Comp Cams pushrods I believe, and usually have all the custom stuff in stock or they can make them pretty quick. Trend is located here in Michigan.
