What is Akatsuki doing?

i was sitting here thinking and something doesnt make sense.
when Akatsuki took gaara, they started the bijuu removal as soon as they could.
when they took the 2 tailed, they went on to another side project. meanwhile, others were taking the 3 tails.

is Akatsuki going to go back into hiding to do the removal of those beasts?
or are they just capturing them and putting them aside for later?here's my wild idea of what is going to happen.
hidan and kakuzu are going to capture naruto, and be taken back to thier lair, where he meets up the 2 tailed. meanwhile we learn something like the AL leader, or something drastic. the number 1 fighter of [forgot the 2 tailed village] and jiaraya or kakashi come to the rescue.

The fact that they're getting many at once shows Kishi could have a more significant role for the Nibi or another Bijuu.

Then again maybe Akatsuki changed strategy or maybe Kishi just fucked up.

Remember that no matter where they are they can help with the extraction ritual. The technique they use (the projection thing) seems to allow the real body to walk around and do stuff while the projection keeps pouring chakra into the ritual.

Akatsuki extracted Gaara as fast as they could because they had just kidnapped the KAZEKAGE of the sand. They wanted to get the job done as fast as possible.

Also, the world is starting to do something about akatsuki. THey want to secure the bijuu's before the other countries stop them by getting to them first.

I think they are trying to get several of them together this time, and then extract them all one after the other rather than loose thier potential leads - Akatsuki cant always choose the exact time and place they find a Jinchuuriki, so they cant really just drop and hold a ceremony at anytime they want, especially since it requires all of thier members to be stationary for a time.

That would be very unwise for Hidan and Kakuzu at the moment, hence they are probably holding off on the ceremony.
