Did you hear today on the news, they are changing the languages learnt at school from french german and spanish. To mandarin urdu and arabic.
The mandarin I approve of but arabit not really, and urdu is hardly used that much i think. I wish they will teach japanese but it won't make a difference i'm not at school anymore anyway. and tbh, I can't speak french well or spanish, I doubt the subject change will make a difference in people's lifestyle.

whats the point of learn arabic or even urdu? and taking off FRENCH???
it's not forced learning they're simply encouraging schools to open up a wider variety of language study. East asian languages as they are becoming more popular in the business world, arabic/urdu because of the small communities living there. As for other Indo-European or Romance languages, reasons are obvious as to why to learn them.
I don't live in the UK, but I've already checked various credible sources, and they are not taking away French, etc......
