Now that we have seen how Hidan fights, in the latest chapters, all the damage dealt to him being reflected back at the person he has cursed. It seems to me that there is a possibility that the host of the Nibi(can't remember her name) might be dead.
Afterall, we saw her staked up on the wall, with a massive amount of blood behind her, and Hidan lying in his circle, with a stake through his heart. Seems fairly fatal to me.
So perhaps it's possible with certain Bijuu to extract them from dead hosts? I don't exactly see how the girl would survive being stabbed through the heart, unless it's some un-natural power her Bijuu gives her.

That answer it, also if that the case they should kill Naruto and Gaara immediatly, not quot;takequot; them
She's alive.

And to answer your question...

When you kill the host it is assumed you kill the bijuu as well.
That is why the Kyuubi helps Naruto.
She was alive, they must've already takin the bijuu out of her.
Matt
Yeah if the host dies the bijuu dies (or is set free, either way, but it doesn't just hang out in a rotting body). Plus we can't see her chest to see if that* particular wound transferred - he may end all ceremonies by laying down and piercing his chest and chillin for a while.
It depends on the seal.
I've read those chapters, but not all Bijuu are sealed the same way.
Kyuubi supposedly will die if Naruto dies, although we don't know for sure, Naruto just blackmails him, Kyuubi doesn't seem sure about it either, so he helps Naruto.
They might honestly not know what happens when a Jinchuuriki dies. They might simply be playing it safe by trying to take all the Jinchuuriki's alive. You would figure though that since Bijuu have a tendency of getting sealed in people quite a bit it seems, that they weren't all extracted in time, and chances are a Jinchuuriki has died with a Bijuu sealed in him before.
It's my guess that on death the Bijuu is simply released. Or at least dependant on the sealing method used. There is no hard evidence anywhere that says when a host dies, the Bijuu dies with it. Simply a few implications here and there, that nobody seems entirely positive on.
Granted Hidan did say he was going to try to take her alive. But if that last wound through the chest transfered, I can't imagine her being able to survive that.
The target has to be alive I guess What's the point of capturing someone alive if not necessary?
Anyway, did anyone ever notice the shape of the blood behind her? Looks like a symbol to me D:
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Chiyo said that the Shukaku was transfered from the ashes of the last Jinchuuriki into Gaara?
So I think it is possible to a resurrect a Bijuu from a dead Jinchuuriki.
But as for Yuugi, I'm almost positive she is or was alive after her battle with Hidan. It is uncertain if they already extracted the 2-Tails from her, or shes in prison awaiting the extraction.

Chiyo never said that. She said that the jinchuuriki died from the extraction in both cases. They also said that Shukaku was in an urn or something similar before it was sealed in Gaara. |
