He's busy saving one of his best friends from some creepy guy that plays magic tricks and tried to cut him in half.
But no teacher would believe him, which means that his grades are screwed.
I mean seriously. Ichigo is REALLY Behind in his school work. Ever hear of a Shinigami dropout?lol, so anyways he better get his ass over to class and hit some books or his grades are gonna stay at Shit-level. And his dad is gonna get pissed off. And he'll get grounded, and wont be able to leave the house.

He was away for a month without any explanation from school and his teacher just smacked him lightly with a book a few times.

You sure? There was that chapter that opened with Yuzu being upset that Ichigo hadn't been home in days. I don't think Kon's doing anything. And I'm pretty sure that while Ichigo was training his body was in the Vaizard warehouse.
At this point, I'd say it's safe to say that Ichigo, Chad, and Ishida have effectively flunked out of school. Probably Orihime too. Not that that'll matter when they world starts to end.

Abandon my Family to join a life if Peaceful Solitide in Sereitei. Or stay with his loved ones in Karakura town.
