I need to see some brown/gold 70-72s

I'm thinking of going with a darker gold or brown on my 72, and I'd like to see some of the colors out there. Car is currently a shade darker than the original Cortez Gold but the paint is starting to show its age. I'm thinking '70 Burnished Saddle but may be persuaded otherwise.

My first '71 back in '84. Gold with a brown/burgundy painted roof.

this is my 72 skylark that is cortez gold with metal flake and 14 coats of clear over top

1970 Burnished Saddle
Burnished Copper...

Tom,
What wheels are on that?

Billet Specialties Street Lites

Jadebird - Where do you live in Ohio? I grew up in Mentor, OH.

'70 Harvest Gold (Code 58)

I live between Akron and Youngstown... near routes 225 and 5.

Artie,

My car is burnished cinamon.

I went with 1976 Corvette Anniversary Gold with the original Bernished (?) brown top. The original 70 Saddle Brown(?) was faded and needed a repaint. The Vette color was just a shade off from the original , just a touch brighter and I could get it in base/clear. For what it's worth... came out nice..Dave

I really like Harvest Gold. Does it brighten up in the light? Seems almost gray.

In 1972 Chevy (exclusively I think) had a dark brown that looked almost black when fresh.  Had a gold metallic.  Code 68 Midnight bronze (PPG # 2451), and it was a different shade than Buick code 68 (PPG #2233) for 1970. It is a great color with a tan interior.

Sorry the pics are of Chevys
