I have a few small jobs to complete.
Hopefully my daughter will stay asleep long enough for me to get them done.
Swap radial tires for the bias plys.
Check fuel filter.
Check all fluid levels.
Fill it up with race gas amp; premium.
Ya know, the basics.
Hey Donny, is your vette in pieces all over the garage?
Did you get enough Bars Leaks for the weekend, Brian?
Anyone else thrashing to get it together in time?
Ya we're thrashing too Chris.

now THATS awesome Bruno
Since I have no engine in the car (in the area or even in the state at the moment as it's a 3hr drive from me), no thrashing for me. Seems odd and I'm gonna miss rowing the gears this weekend. But I will be a spectator Sat though and the girlfriend will be spectating too. She may run the car at Stanton this year or at some race next year.
Chris, I haven't heard anything from Mr. Munson, but I do know the car is moving under it's own power after some thrashing several weeks back.
Bruno,
Your a BAAAAAD man!!!!
I've been thrashing all week on a couple of my tractors. Grass is growing faster than I can keep them running. Be there Sat as a spectator for a while. It's my 65th birthday........
I got plenty of time just need wires, sidepipes, strut rods, and a 4 wheel alignment............

Bruno,
I thought I was going to see that FAST IV on the dyno..or something cool from the Beltrane camp..BTW, I just found 2 more mph
While everyone is doing their last minute thrash, let's not forget the simple stuff like changing out your anti-freeze for straight water. Last year at Stanton a Corvette caused his own demise due to an anti-freeze leak. The track personel attempted to clean it up, however coolant is almost impossible to get off the track surface properly. The track crew then allowed us to start racing again, which then almost caused an additional incident and more track down time. Please leave your anti-freeze at home....Thanks!

Waiting to get the manifolds back from Extrude hone?
Donny at least you have a motor where it belongs. The Judge has a gapping hole filled only with air. Thank God for Mr. Jensen as that is always my only hope. Poor man has stress levels through the roof trying to fix my race car problems.

Jody (IAA II block lover)
Happy to say that all I did last night was put some miles on the new rear end.
Man it's hard not to beat on it
Donny it wouldn't be a race if you didn't have a picture of your kid in the engine compartment 3 days before.
Jeremy, I took care of the beating for you. Look at the the concrete launch pad next door.

Yeah,
I'll be there with the Munson mobile. I wouldn't miss being able to take on the yellow Torino!!!
More tuning than thrashing for me in the last couple weeks. Just had the tires balanced last night and tonight
gonna change the oil and air and fuel filter.
I'll tell you the engine stories thursday night or at the track.

I will check it out ........... can't wait to here times from Milan while I'm at work
Just tell Yvonne bigger burnouts............. it's part of being the pit Boy
Thanks Denny. I heard the good news also. I thought I might be prepairing the Boss tonight. Instead I get to clean the messy truck and trailer.
Dan even thought it ran really well for a fat girl, something about it was just about as fast as his old Gremlin but not as quick as his 350 2bbl firebird.

Hard to beat a good running Threefidee !!
Jody
For once, there is no thrashing from our camp Thank You.
Other than getting a new windshield installed in the Chevelle today to replace the new windshield(don't ask )
Oil changed both cars-Check
Plugs changed-Check
Timing adjusted-Check
Did some work on the Chevelle this past week finishing up and correcting a couple little details that we ran out of time on last September. At Stanton we couldn't manually shift into low gear, and the trans was WOT shifting at about 3800rpm, we had a remanufactured distributor that looked like it sat in a swamp for 50 years(at least the cam for the points)and the car kept losing dwell and dropping cylinders.
We installed a new distributor, installed a crane XRI, pulled the governor out of the trans and made some corrections there. The car now has WOT shifts up where they belong, so hopefully we will see an improvement in E.T.,we should know Friday morning |
